Dr Bickerton is a practising consultant psychiatrist working within the NHS in Devon.
He has over 13 years' experience as a GP and was a former GP Principal.
David is a member of the GMC's panel of Psychiatric Examiners and Assessors for Fitness to Practise Panels.

Liaison Psychiatry
Dr Bickerton routinely works with medical and surgical colleagues across the region and is able to assist with the management of mental health difficulties of medical and surgical patients. He is also able to refer on to specialist psychiatric facilities as necessary.
Forensic Psychiatry & Medico-Legal Reporting
He was a former Police Surgeon, was trained in forensic psychiatry and now is a member of the Parole Board. He also holds a Masters in Medical Law.
Coaching & Training
Dr Bickerton is the Medical Director of Beacon Peninsula - a training and coaching organisation located in Exeter but working on a national and international level. He lectures at the Peninsula Medical School to both undergraduates and postgraduates and for the Medical Protection Society in other professional environments.
He has an MSc in clinical research methodology and David is very interested in the development and training of coaching and communication skills.
